The 25th Territory Saltwater Fly Fishing Challenge will be held in September 2024. Dates to be confirmed.

his fun and challenging fly fishing contest is held in the fish rich waters of Bynoe Harbour. This vast natural harbour, with its myriad of fishing options, is a fly fishing haven. There are ample mud flats that provide outstanding run-off sight fishing opportunities. The usual rocky outcrops, islands, creeks and tidal estuaries provide numerous surface and deep water fly fishing challenges.

The Challenge is to land all of 7 target species in one day. The species are:

  • barramundi
  • salmon
  • tarpon
  • queenfish
  • trevally
  • mackerel 
  • snapper.

Schedule

Competition brief: Thursday 8pm

Fishing times:

  • Friday and Saturday 7am -  5pm (scores in)
  • Sunday 7am - 2pm (scores in)
Final presentationSunday 4pm

Meals, evening entertainment and presentations are provided by the Club, as well as great prizes and a competition shirt.

Refund policy

The angler withdrawing is entitled to a refund of fees paid, less any reasonable expenses incurred by Darwin Flyrodders and less a $20 administration fee.

A substitute angler must pay the entry fee applicable at the time of their application.
