Darwin Flyrodders are taking advantage of the Picnic Day Holiday on Monday 5th August and are holding a club outing at Mardugal Billabong, Kakadu from Friday 2nd - Monday 5th August.
About the Outing
Based out of Mardugal Billabong camping area we’ll be able to fish the picturesque billabongs in the Cooinda and Norlangie areas including:
• Jim Jim billabong
• Mardugal billabong
• Home billabong
• Yellow waters billabong
There’s no target species for this outing but we know Saratoga & Barramundi are often found in these waters.
Bring your sense of adventure, fly tying gear, fly fishing gear, a boat,camping gear, food and water (you can resupply from The Gagudju Cooinda Lodge Store which sells petrol, LPG gas, diesel, food and souvenirs, ice.)
Remember all fish count toward the annual Top Ten and Champion Angler Competitions, you also get 100 bonus points for attending a club outing.
We'd love to see as many members & friends as possible out there. When you arrive just look for the DFR banner and, if we know you’re coming, we'll keep an eye out for you!
About Mardugal Campground
Mardugal Campground is just a short drive from Yellow Waters it has a lovely shady campsite and there's a boat ramp at the campsite!
Camping Fees (payable to the park ranger)
Adults: $15.00 per night, Children: $7.50 per night, Families: $38.00 per night
